Consumer Credit Card Counseling Help

Reducir Deudas Consolidar Deudas Tarjetas de Credito

Retailers say it only takes a few minutes of your time to save when you sign up for your first in store credit card. Brian DeLaney with consumer credit counseling says shoppers beware. "They might be tempted a little especially when they do get the offer of the 10–percent off or 15–percent whatever it is."

Credit cards seem to be an easy way to pay at a later date.

Before you sign up DeLaney says, even though the cards offer first time purchase perks, they can come with high interest rates.

"I think that as long as you stick to your game plan and you pay the charge off in the month in full then, you have done a great thing. You've outsmarted the retailer. You're going to save 10 to 15 percent and it's been a good deal."

He says if you do not pay your bill off you could end up racking up debt with interest rates much higher than regular credit cards.

It could hurt your credit score.

If you are already in credit card debt seeing a credit counselor could help you lower interest rates, reduce payments and lower fees.
